CBI recovered Rs 10,000; CGST superintendent arrested for accepting bribe.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered Rs 10,000 from the complainant. Superintendent of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Division-Rudrapur, District Udham Singh Nagar, (Uttarakhand) was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs. 

On the basis of a complaint, CBI registered a case against the accused Superintendent, Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST), Division- Rudrapur, District Udham Singh Nagar, (Uttarakhand). It is alleged that the said accused had demanded Rs. 15,000/- from the complainant for activating the suspended GSTIN of his wife’s firm. Had demanded a bribe of Rs. Later the bribe amount was reduced to Rs 10,000/-. Has been done. 

CBI laid a trap and got Rs 10,000/- from the accused. Caught red handed while accepting bribe.

Searches were conducted at the premises of the accused in Rudrapur (District Udham Singh Nagar Uttarakhand) and Ambala (Haryana). During the search, two lockers, bank accounts and some objectionable documents etc. were recovered.

Investigation is ongoing in this matter.
