GST Payments Go Digital: GSTN Launched UPI Option in 10 States

As of January 18, 2024, a significant development has taken place in the realm of Goods and Services Tax (GST) payments, as the option to make GST payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been introduced.

This feature is currently available in ten States and Union Territories, namely Assam, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Odisha.

The initiative, accessible through all UPIs via Kotak Mahindra Bank, marks a notable step towards digitizing and simplifying the GST payment process.

This progressive move is set to benefit businesses and individuals in the initial states, with plans to extend the service to the rest of India and additional banks in the near future.
